Dakota Hotspots - Oct. 13, 2006
My brother and I made a quick trip to Perkins County this week to knock out a few antelope.
We drew the second week which made the hunting more difficult. Most of the big bucks were already taken and the herds were very skittish. If they spotted you at a mile, they would still bolt. We also had to deal with 40+ MPH winds and 20 degree cold.
Mike made a beautiful 400 yard shot on his; mine was only about half of that distance. Both of these bucks will measure over 15 inches, no wall-hangers but still respectable.
Good luck in your adventures.
